Choosing the best location for your photography session.

I absolutely love to shoot outdoors, there are so many beautiful and picturesque locations in the local area that we really are spoilt for choice!

When booking a shoot or planning your engagement session, some clients have a very set idea on where they want there session to take place, this could be a special place to them and they want to capture memories there or they just love the place, this often takes me to new places which is amazing because I love exploring and being outdoors. However on occasion I do get asked for my recommendations, So I thought I would create my 'go to' list of places that I absolutely love and that make the perfect backdrop for your photography sessions.

So here we go!!

  1. Valley gardens- This is such a beautiful place for couples & family photos, so many different photo opportunities.

  2. Otley chevrin - A stunning woodland walk and a viewing point when you reach the top

  3. Thrusscross reservoir - One of my favourite reservoir's. such beautiful woodland walks which wraps around the whole reservoir.

  4. Fewston/ Swinsty reservoir- Beautiful views and gorgeous woodland walks

  5. Burnsall- Stunning river and views.

  6. Brimham Rocks- Amazing location known for its stunning rock formations.

  7. Linley woods- This wood is amazing during blue bell season! The wood floor is covered in a sea of blue. I will defiantly be hosting a mini session here this year.

  8. Knaresborough- beautiful river, castle and gardens. which is the perfect backdrop for some stumming photos

  9. Cold stone cut- A slight hill walk but the stunning views up at the top make the climb so worth it.

  10. The stray- Especially in spring when the blossom is in full bloom! A sight not to be missed. I will be hosting a mini session here this year so keep your eyes peeled for more information on this very soon,

  11. Stainburn Forest- Absolute stunning woodland walk.

  12. Ripley castle - Beautiful castle and grounds. You can either go inside the castle grounds or there is even a walk around the castle which is also just as beautiful.

  13. Nidd gorge - Stunning woodlands and the best bridge, perfect for portraits and family session's.

  14. Golden acre park - stunning walks and gardens for a variety of beautiful photos

As you can see we are definitely not short on stunning locations. Now onto the hard part...…. How do you choose!!!

If I have missed any then please do let me know in the comments I

love hearing about hidden gems.

See you on the next blog!
